This is Lucie, a.k.a Loes Poes, a.k.a Schmusi. Actually, she has many more names than that and recognises when I address her. She also knows everyone else's name in the Castellini family. Lucie joined our household in 2017 and has really rocked the boat! Every day she teaches us about cat life and what it means to communicate from species to species.

Lucie's improvisational journey: Every day brings with it new adventures and challenges. Be it a construction worker's car down the road, a staring contest with the neighbour's cat, or an unexpected move of furniture - there is always something to discover. Overall, Lucie's focus lies on creating excitement and comfort. She can fully involve herself in chasing a piece of string and a few moments later make the hardest surface look like a luxury bed.

A list of practices she enjoys: sleeping, exploring, playing, being, hunting, sharing her catch, snoozing, cuddling, hiding, going for walks, eating, observing, grooming, massaging, and napping.

Who she learns from: Lucie shares a deep sense of connection with her surroundings and humans. She expresses her gratitude with licks and nose-kisses.

Lucie's role at impro studio: Lucie teaches us how to relate to the non-human world. From her, we learn to communicate with language that goes far beyond words. Her observations of our family are thorough and detailed, laying bare our (sub)conscious patterns. Therefore she is an important upholder of our values and integrity, as well as a welcome reminder to take a break from screens and focus on what is right in front of us.

Here and now. As impulses emerge, we encounter what arises in the moment.
